After 2020, online learning stopped being an “option” and became a necessity. But now that schools are back to in-person learning, should we still be investing in online education?
The answer: Yes—but in a smarter way.
✅ Hybrid models are growing – Students learn better when they have both in-person and online options.
✅ AI tutoring & grading are improving – AI tools can’t replace teachers (yet), but they can handle boring admin tasks like grading and scheduling.
✅ Virtual & Augmented Reality are on the rise – Instead of just reading about supply and demand, students could step inside a virtual stock market and experience it.
So what does this mean for us, the teachers?

👓 Virtual Reality Classrooms – Teaching in the Metaverse?
Imagine teaching entrepreneurship in a virtual city, where students can:
- Create & run virtual businesses in real time
- Walk through economic case studies instead of just reading them
- Experience global markets from their classroom
VR is already being tested in universities and corporate training. But do you think it will actually become part of high school and college business programs?

🤖 AI-Powered Teaching – Will AI Replace Us? (Spoiler: No.)
AI is not taking over education, but it is making our jobs easier.
✔ AI can grade multiple-choice tests & suggest feedback on essays
✔ It can help students with research & writing (if used ethically!)
✔ Adaptive learning AI can tailor lessons to students’ strengths and weaknesses
But can it replace the human connection of teaching? Probably not. AI can’t:
❌ Inspire students
❌ Adapt to emotions or behavior in real time
❌ Build relationships
So instead of fearing AI, let’s figure out how to use it to make our jobs easier.

📱 Short-Form Learning – Are We Teaching in TikTok Now?
Students don’t have long attention spans anymore (and let’s be honest, neither do we). Platforms like TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels are changing how people consume information.
So the question is: Should we be using short-form videos to teach?
Pros:
✔ Quick & engaging
✔ Forces teachers to get to the point
✔ Students already spend hours watching them
Cons:
❌ Oversimplifies complex topics
❌ Encourages “skimming” instead of deep learning
❌ We don’t all want to be on camera 😅
